Investment returns
Introduction
Investment returns are what you look forward to most: this is when you receive the proceeds from your investments. This section explains how those returns work and how to track them.
How do returns work?
The investment return cycle unfolds in several steps:
Company deposits funds (Return Payin)
↓
Platform validates and distributes
↓
Investor receives their share (Return Payout)
1. The company deposits funds
On the scheduled due date, the company makes a return payin on the platform. This represents repayment of principal and interest to investors.
2. The platform distributes
The Genkibo team validates the deposit and creates the corresponding return payouts for each investor, proportional to their contribution.
3. You receive your share
A return payout is assigned to you and you receive your money according to the agreed method.
Viewing your received returns
- From the main menu, click "Returns" or "Investment payout".
- The list of all your return payouts is displayed.

The return schedule
Each investment has a precise return schedule, defined in the payment schedule. That schedule shows:
- Payment dates (monthly, quarterly, etc.)
- The amount due at each installment
- The status of each payment
To view this schedule, go to "Payment schedule" (see Module 6).
How your return is calculated
Your return is calculated proportionally to your contribution:
Your return = (Your contribution / Total amount raised) × Total return for the offer
Example:
- Total amount raised: 10,000,000 FCFA
- Your contribution: 500,000 FCFA (i.e. 5%)
- Total expected return: 11,500,000 FCFA (15% rate)
- Your return: 5% × 11,500,000 = 575,000 FCFA
Return notifications
You receive automatic notifications:
- Before the due date: reminder that you should receive a return soon.
- When payment is made: confirmation that your return has been processed.
- In case of delay: alert if the company is late depositing funds.
What if a return is late?
If you notice that an expected return has not arrived:
- Check the return status in your payout list.
- Check the offer status for any updates.
- Contact support via chat if the issue persists.
