Introduction
Before using Genkibo, it is important to understand the vocabulary and core concepts used on the platform. This module will serve as your reference glossary throughout your journey.
Investment concepts
Investment offer
An investment offer is a funding opportunity created by a company. It specifies:
- The total amount to raise
- The expected rate of return for investors
- The duration of the investment
- The related project
- The terms of participation
An offer goes through several statuses before it becomes available to investors:

| Pending | Submitted to the admin for validation |
| Approved | Validated by the admin, ready to be published |
| Published | Visible and available to investors |
| Closed | Closed (target reached or manual decision) |
| Expired | Automatically deactivated after expiration |
Investment
An investment is the link between an investor and an investment offer. When an investor decides to participate in an offer, an investment is created.
Payin (contribution)
A payin is the money transfer made by an investor to participate in an investment offer. It is the concrete act that represents their financial contribution.
A payin can be made through various payment methods (card, mobile money, transfer, etc.).
Payout (distribution)
A payout is the money transfer from the platform to a company. It represents the raised funds transmitted to the company after validation.
Return on investment
Return on investment is the amount the company must pay back to investors at the end of the investment period. It includes:
- The principal originally invested
- Interest or the promised yield
Return payin
This is the payment made by the company to repay investors. The company deposits the funds on the platform.
Return payout
This is the payment made by the platform to each investor to distribute their share of the return.
Payment schedule
The payment schedule is a calendar that details all payment due dates for an investment. It lists:
- Planned payment dates
- Corresponding amounts
- The status of each installment
Company concepts
Project
A project is an initiative led by a company. It is the central entity around which investment offers are organized. A project can have:
- Stages: the main phases of the project
- Tasks: actions to carry out at each stage
Audit
An audit is a verification and validation process carried out by the Genkibo team. It can cover:
- The company profile: identity and information verification
- A project: viability and project information verification
- An investment offer: verification before publication
An audit goes through the following statuses:

Audit request
An audit request is initiated by the company when it wants its profile, project, or offer validated. The admin then processes the request.
Document
A document is a file uploaded to the platform (ID, proof, contract, invoice, etc.). Documents are:
- Encrypted for security
- Categorized by type
- Submitted for validation by admins
Company score
The company score is a rating automatically calculated by the platform to assess a company’s reliability and credibility. It takes several criteria into account (documents, audits, activity, etc.). This score helps investors make informed decisions.
Payment concepts
Transaction
A transaction is any money movement recorded on the platform (payment, refund, distribution, etc.). Each transaction has a status:

External payment
An external payment is a payment made outside the platform (bank transfer, cash, etc.) and recorded manually by an administrator. It must be approved by an admin before it is accounted for.
Refund
A refund is the return of an amount paid to an investor, in exceptional cases (offer cancellation, payment error, etc.).
Payment providers
Genkibo supports several payment providers:

Subscription concepts
Subscription
A subscription grants access to modules and specific platform features. Without an active subscription, some actions may be restricted.
Subscription type
The subscription type defines the tier (e.g. Basic, Standard, Premium). Each type includes a set of modules.
Subscription module
A module is a group of features (e.g. “Advanced projects” module, “Analytics” module, etc.). Modules are grouped into subscription types.
Subscription price
Price varies by subscription type and duration (monthly, quarterly, yearly, etc.).
Security concepts
2FA (two-factor authentication)
2FA adds an extra layer of security to login. After entering your password, a one-time code is sent to you by SMS. You must enter it to complete sign-in.
Digital vault
The digital vault is a secure storage space where your sensitive documents are encrypted. Only authorized users can decrypt and view them.
Impersonation
Impersonation is a feature reserved for administrators that lets them temporarily sign in as a user to assist them. This action requires a confirmation code and leaves a trail in the logs.
